Welcome to the new 2021-2022 school year. You probably remember me from teaching Health & PE last year. This year, I am doing something new! I will be teaching Middle School English and Language Arts and Social Studies, High School Practical English and Language Arts, and Civics. I am excited and look forward to working with you in class!
If you haven’t met me yet, here’s a little bit about me:
- I grew up in Arizona & moved to Portland, OR when I got married. Currently, I live in Camas, WA and have lived here in the forest with my husband and 6 kids for 18 years. I love it here in the beautiful northwest.
- My Educational Background – I have BS is in Educational Psychology from Brigham Young Univ. and a MA in Deaf Education from the Univ. of Arizona – with a focus in Bilingual-Bicultural Education. My teaching certificates are in Deaf Education K -12, Special Education K-12, and Elementary Education K-8.
- I taught at the Phoenix Day School for the Deaf for a year (5th& 4th grade & summer school with K-2) and Ellsworth Elementary School in Evergreen District in Sp. Ed (K-3) for 2 years. I took a “break” to raise my children, and then started subbing all over Vancouver, Camas, & Washougal for 3.5 years, and occasionally substituted as an educational ASL interpreter in the local districts too. The last year and half, I taught PE & Health at WSD. This year I am looking forward to teaching ELA and Social Studies.
I am here to help, and my ‘door is always open.’ If you have any questions or concerns, please email or call me.
