WSD students come from all areas of the state to attend school. Students who live outside the Vancouver, Washington area are eligible to attend the school’s Residential Program.
WSD has modern homelike cottages (built in 1999) where our residential students live during the week while they attend classes. Each cottage has 7 bedrooms, family room, living room, dining room, kitchen and laundry room. Student Life Counselors (SLCs) are professional, nurturing adults trained to promote the social, emotional, physical and educational growth of our students.
Residential students receive academic/homework assistance, participate in after school programs and social activities, and have the opportunity for community involvement. Parents and staff use phones, VPs and email for ongoing communication about student progress and to address concerns or questions.
High school students can participate in the Independent Living Skills (ILS) program.
