Kids in Group Having Fun

WSD middle school students are a part of the secondary department at WSD.  They have separate classes from high school students, but share teachers and lunch with high school students.  Students are carefully placed in small classes according to communication and academic abilities. The school follows a model of six 55 minute periods in the school day, with a 20 minute homeroom/advisory class that meets daily. Teachers are trained in ASL-English bilingual strategies.  All students have an English class that allows for intensive reading and writing instruction, as well as ASL as a core content class.
