Hello WSD, families! My name is Ginger Speranza, and I am excited to welcome your students into the library this school year.

I’ve been a proud part of the Washington School for the Deaf family since 2002—meaning I’ve had the joy of watching generations of students grow into lifelong readers and creators! My journey in education started at Western Washington University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation (yes, I officially studied how to have fun outdoors!). I went on to earn an Educational Interpreting Certificate from South Puget Sound Community College and my master’s degree in Deaf Education from Western Oregon University. To top it off, I am National Board Certified in Library Media (Early Childhood through Young Adulthood).

Whether we’re hunting down the perfect book, diving into technology, or turning the library into a hub of curiosity, my goal is to make sure every student feels connected and inspired. When I’m not surrounded by stacks of books, you can usually find me enjoying the outdoors or catching up on my own reading list.

Our library is located in the Divine Academic building and it is open to students from 7:45am to 3:15pm, Monday-Thursday.
