Hello and welcome to my webpage!

My name is Stephanie Malik.  I currently teach all subjects to 2nd, and 3rd  graders in the Elementary Department at WSD.   I grew up in the Windy City also known as Chicago and I have had the good fortune to live and teach on both coasts of the US.  After I received my M.A. in Deaf Education from New York University, I continued to do post graduate work at Columbia University and Gallaudet.  I have taught Elementary aged students in New York and Oregon. I was an adjunct professor at St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn, NY and I taught composition classes to Deaf adults at LaGuardia Community College in Queens, NY.   My bilingual family communicates in ASL, English and some Portuguese. We moved to the Northwest where conditions for windsurfing are the best in the world.  I also enjoy paddle boarding on calmer waters.
