CDHY Family Night: Vancouver

Family Night - Vancouver Come join CDHY and "Bake it with Sass" for a fun family baking night! This is a hands-on event where you and your child will get to learn new ASL baking vocabulary and tips on how t0 include your deaf or hard of hearing child in cooking routines. Aprons, ingredients, and all materials will be provided. -Activity for birth to 2nd graders: baking cookies theme - Activity for 3rd to 6th graders: camping theme - Finger foods will be provided All communication modes are welcomed! Access to ASL interpreters. Spanish Language Interpreters available upon request. Our daughter’s first language is ASL. It’s very important she understand ASL.

I can tell he just feels like a whole new world has been open to him in how to communicate with his hands and he has already made soooooo much progress….I’ve always felt like I had to micromanage everything for him and like nobody else understood what he needed and it’s just so nice now to just know he is in good hands and around people who understand him in a way even I don’t and we are all just amazed at how much even a month has affected him. He wakes up begging to go to school.
