School-to-Work Transition

WSD's School-to-Work Transition Coordinator provides Vocational Evaluation Services including: conducting vocation interest assessments with students and assisting with transition planning and educational programming to include: interviewing parents, family members. Individual testing (interviewing the student, vocational interest assessment), scoring and interpretation, report writing, feedback meeting with students, parents and professionals, and assistance with transition planning if requested by the district.

WSD provides a variety of transition and career services that include: academic assessments, career interest/vocational assessments, career portfolio curriculum, transition support from school to work (work-based learning programs), consultations in complying with the IDEA transition laws, guidance for Functional Vocational Evaluation (FVE) procedures, Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) liaisons that provide students and families with linkage to their VR counselors throughout the state of Washington.
