WSD Student Wins Art Competition!

Please congratulate Ashleigh Rice for her FIRST prize winning art entry in the Gallaudet National Essay, Art and Sign Contest. This year there were over 600 entries from all over the country. Ashleigh’s art will be featured in the Celebrate! magazine published by Clerc Center soon. In addition, Ashleigh has won $1,000 scholarship to any college of her choice, or $2,000 if she chooses to attend Gallaudet. A copy of Ashleigh’s drawing is posted near the office in WSD Divine High School.

WSD Athlete in Columbian Newspaper!

Check out the article about Ashley Medlock, a WSD student
athlete who recently returned from the Special Olympic World
Games in Sun Valley, Idaho with three medals (Gold, Silver
and Bronze) in the snowboarding competition.
Ashley was featured with a front page story on the Sports
section of the local Vancouver newspaper, The Columbian.
We thought you might be interested in learning about one
of our WSD students who represented herself and
WSD so well in this international competition.
