About D.E.A.F.
History: Deaf Education Advocates Foundation (D.E.A.F.) was established in 1989 by Washington School for the Deaf Superintendent, Dr. Gary Holman. Its purpose is to generate funds through private philanthropy, to be used for enrichment programs for the students of Washington School for the Deaf.
Mission: To enhance the education of all deaf and hard of hearing children and youth in Washington State
Objectives: D.E.A.F. has three continuing objectives which support deaf and hard of hearing students:
To provide programs of enrichment for students who are enrolled or supported by Washington School for the Deaf. - To purchase equipment, materials and services needed to enrich the lives of deaf and hard of hearing children served by Washington School for the Deaf.
- To provide opportunities for teachers, staff or allied service providers associated with and under the control and direction of Washington School for the Deaf to develop programs that will benefit students.
