Superintendent Search
Overview
The Board of Trustees is currently conducting a nationwide search for the next superintendent. Over the past several months of the search and selection process, we have been working in collaboration with the Washington State Department of Personnel’s Executive Careers Office.
Search Process Timeline

| September 18, 2007 | The Board of Trustees partners with Washington State Department of Personnel, Executive Careers Office |
| October 11, 2007 | Search committee representatives and Executive Careers staff hold a meeting at the school to gather feedback and input from staff, teachers, parents and community members on the search process and desirable qualifications of the new superintendent |
| October 12, 2007 | Board of Trustees approves a position description and job announcement |
| October 16, 2007 | Position opens - job announcement is published |
| November 8, 2007 | Search committee representatives and Executive Careers staff hold a second meeting in Seattle to gather feedback and input from stakeholders on the search process and desirable qualifications of the new superintendent |
| November 16, 2007 | Initial review of applicants begins. Deadline to submit feedback |
| February 1, 2008 | Position closes |
| February 7, 2008 | Search committee meets to review applicant pool and identifies top candidates |
| February 8, 2008 | Board of Trustees meets in closed session to review applicant pool and identify top candidates to move forward into the interview process. |
| March 12, 2008 | Selected candidates meet with stakeholders statewide (see above for more information) |
| March 13, 2008 | Candidates meet with students and staff during the day, then in the afternoon are interviewed by the Board. Stakeholders in the Vancouver area will have an opportunity to meet each candidate at the school that evening. (see above for more information) |
| March 14, 2008 | Board meets in closed session for final candidate review and deliberations. Finalists are identified and submitted to the Governor |
