Dolorita (Rita) Reandeau lives in Port Orchard, Washington and represents District 6
She is a Director of Special Education Programs in South Kitsap School District. Rita is also active on the board for the local Helpline Food Bank. That project involves a current capital fund campaign to purchase a local nursery. The goal for the project is to develop community gardens to sustain the food bank.
Rita and her husband Jim have two children, Rose (21 yrs) who is in college and Will (14 yrs) who is a 9th grader in school at South Kitsap. Other family members include Jenny, a docile Golden Retriever, and Beamer, a personable black cat.
Rita has been involved with Special Education and students with deafness and hearing impairments for over 29 years. Her interest began when she served in the Peace Corps with the Jamaican Association for the Deaf. Her work there included staring a school for the deaf and taking a census of the number of deaf children in order to impress upon the World Health Organization the need for a Rubella immunization program in the country.
She enjoys her participation with the Board of Trustees for WSD so that she can continue her focus on this population and hopefully make a positive contribution.
