Char Parsley, of Spokane, WA (District #5) is currently the executive director of Eastern WA Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing which serves Eastern Washington and North Idaho.
She has two children, one who is deaf and residing in Alaska as the Accounts Manager for the Alaska Relay Services and the other who is hard of hearing and working as a deaf interpreter in Eastern Washington.
Char graduated from WSD, Gallaudet University and University of Texas (Master's in Social Work). Both of her children attended WSD prior to moving to Maryland School for the Deaf.
Char brings with her extensive work experiences, as a social worker, mental health counselor, child protective worker (in D.C.), academic advising (at Gallaudet), instructor in social work (at Gallaudet), sign language instructor in several schools and colleges and enjoys several hobbies such as reading novels, gardening, swimming and the like.
