Allie Joiner is semi-retired as she works part-time as a Senior Citizen Advocacy Specialist with Deaf Blind Service Center.
Her background consists of 13 years of teaching the Deaf in 3 different residential schools (South Carolina, New Mexico and Colorado) and 6 years of vocational counseling with Seattle Hearing and Speech.
The last 30 years have been in the area of advocacy work with Community Service Center for the Deaf (now defunct) , Tacoma Area Coalition of Individuals with Disabilities and Abused Deaf Women’s Advocacy Services.
